Overview

To build a more inclusive and sustainable local economy, young changemakers in second cities like Sanggau need access to tools, mentorship, and structured learning environments. In collaboration with Lingkar Temu Kabupaten Lestari (LTKL), we joined forces with Samudra Bekudonk’k to accelerate their transformation into a capable youth-led incubator. The initiative aimed to support and incubate micro-enterprises through a learning journey tailored to their local context.

The Challenge

Despite the growing number of aspiring changemakers in Sanggau, access to practical knowledge, professional mentorship, and scalable program design remained limited. Samudra Bekudonk’k required stronger systems, frameworks, and upskilling to translate youth enthusiasm into long-term community impact. Their vision to nurture MSMEs through structured incubation lacked the operational backbone to be fully realized.

Our Approach

We co-designed and implemented a tailored accelerator for the Samudra team, focusing on program design, project management, financial strategy, and impact reporting. The journey included a structured masterclass series for youth entrepreneurs, coaching sessions for select micro-businesses, and a Demo Day to showcase results. The approach combined technical mentoring with hands-on guidance for both the Samudra team and its MSME participants.

What We Delivered
  • Capacity building for Samudra Bekudonk’k through 4 core training modules: project management, financial strategy, program development, and impact reporting
  • Mentoring and collaborative supervision throughout the planning and execution of SADARI
  • A co-designed incubation model tailored to rural youth entrepreneurs in Sanggau
  • 3-stage program delivery (masterclass, coaching, demo day)
  • Ongoing performance monitoring through weekly check-ins and an integrated progress tracker

Before launching the final showcase, we began by identifying Samudra’s key capacity gaps, then guided them through a collaborative design sprint and co-built the SADARI incubation model. Throughout the process, we held continuous progress tracking, iterative consultations, and audience research with 11 MSMEs to better adapt to local barriers such as remote access and offline learning preferences.

Project Output

SADARI (Samudra Inkubasi Bisnis Lestari) was successfully launched as Samudra Bekudonk’k’s first incubation program. With support from our team, Samudra executed a 3-stage incubation experience for local MSMEs: 6 masterclass sessions, 3 focused coaching days, and a public Demo Day. SADARI enabled Samudra to activate their community network, reach 100+ youth, and establish a clear pathway for youth-led business development. The model now stands as a scalable approach for second-city incubation efforts .
