An inclusive capacity-building program that empowered over 3,000 MSMEs, including more than 700 participants with disabilities through financial, digital, and business literacy.

Indonesia’s MSMEs are the backbone of its economy, yet many still operate informally and lack access to essential knowledge and tools. Yayasan Allianz Peduli and LAB Foundation launched Allianz Setara to provide business, financial, and digital upskilling for MSMEs across the country, with a special focus on inclusion for people with disabilities.
Despite their economic contribution, many MSMEs especially those run by marginalized groups struggle with limited access to financial services, poor business infrastructure, and low digital adaptation. There was an urgent need for an accessible, practical, and empowering platform to accelerate their capacity for growth.
We designed Allianz Setara as a blended learning experience combining webinars, an online learning platform, and an intensive mentoring program. We prioritized inclusivity by ensuring materials and sessions were accessible to people with disabilities. The content focused on five key areas: product packaging, financial literacy, digital marketing, legality, and business scale-up.

We started with field research and inclusive outreach strategies to reach diverse MSME groups, including those led by people with disabilities. The program was designed to be practical, confidence-building, and easy to follow regardless of participant's digital or business literacy.
The program successfully delivered 5 expert-led webinar sessions and 4 mentoring classes covering essential MSME topics including packaging, financial literacy, digital marketing, business legality, and scaling strategies. These webinars were complemented by an accessible learning management system (LMS) that engaged 553 active users across various regions. From a nationwide pool of 3,217 registrants, 10 selected MSMEs received one-on-one mentoring and business coaching, culminating in a pitching session where they earned seed funding and continued post-program support. The content and delivery were adapted to ensure accessibility for more than 700 participants with disabilities, setting a new standard for inclusive entrepreneurship learning.
